Social Media Manager

Creative, curious, collaborative? You’ll fit right in.

Help us make B2B social better.

POM Marketing is growing, and so is the social media work we do for our clients. We’re looking for a smart, creative and highly organized Social Media Manager to join our team on a contract basis.

We’re a boutique B2B marketing agency working with companies in technology, GovCon, cybersecurity, critical infrastructure, SaaS and other complex industries. Social media—particularly LinkedIn—is an important part of how we help our clients build visibility, establish credibility, engage the right audiences and support business growth.

We’re looking for someone who already has a solid social media foundation and wants to keep growing. You’ll learn the POM way from an experienced B2B social strategist, while bringing your own ideas, creativity and perspective to the table.

This isn't a role for someone who just wants to fill a content calendar. We want to create social media content people actually want to engage with.

What You’ll Do

Working closely with POM’s account team, you’ll help manage social media programs for multiple B2B clients, including:

  • Developing and maintaining social content calendars
  • Writing engaging, on-brand social copy, primarily for LinkedIn
  • Creating social graphics using Canva and established brand systems
  • Turning thought leadership, company news, projects, events, case studies and industry trends into compelling social content
  • Scheduling and publishing approved content
  • Monitoring client channels and identifying opportunities to engage with followers, partners and industry conversations
  • Helping build relevant followers, reach and engagement
  • Supporting executive and employee thought leadership
  • Researching audiences, competitors, partners and industry trends
  • Tracking performance and using insights to continually improve content and engagement
  • Supporting paid social campaigns as needed
  • Exploring emerging opportunities for B2B brands on channels such as Reddit—and whatever comes next

Our social programs go well beyond posting. They combine content, community engagement, audience growth, analytics and ongoing optimization to help clients build a stronger and more consistent presence.

What We’re Looking For

You might be a great fit if you:

  • Have approximately 3–5 years of social media, content or digital marketing experience
  • Have hands-on experience managing company or client social accounts
  • Have B2B experience in technology, GovCon, cybersecurity, infrastructure, AEC, SaaS, or another complex industry
  • Have experience with social scheduling, listening and analytics platforms such as Agorapulse, Hootsuite, or HubSpot
  • Understand LinkedIn and what makes people engage there
  • Write well and can adapt to different brands, audiences and voices
  • Have a good visual eye and are comfortable creating in Canva according to brand guidelines
  • Can juggle multiple clients, calendars and deadlines without losing the details
  • Are curious enough to dig into technical or unfamiliar industries and learn them
  • Understand that social media is about community and engagement—not simply publishing
  • Can use performance data to make the next month’s work better
  • Are comfortable using AI as a tool without letting it replace judgment, originality or a human voice
  • Welcome feedback and ask good questions
  • Bring ideas instead of simply waiting for assignments
  • Enjoy being part of a small, collaborative, roll-up-your-sleeves team

If this sounds like the way you like to work, we'd love to hear from you.

How We Work

POM operates as an extension of our clients’ marketing teams. That means responsiveness, professionalism, attention to detail and genuinely understanding a client’s business matter as much as creative ability.

You’ll work closely with our senior account team to learn POM’s approach to B2B social strategy, content development, engagement, audience growth and client work.

But we don't want to teach you to simply repeat what we've always done.

We want someone who will learn what works—and eventually help us make it even better.

The Opportunity

This position will begin as a contract role, with hours based on client needs and POM’s continued growth.

For the right person, there’s meaningful opportunity to grow with us. Over time, that could mean expanded responsibility, more hours and potentially an employee position as our social media practice continues to grow.
